In January 2003, Dr. Sandra Mossman was named Superintendent of Schools for the Clear Creek
Independent School District after serving in many positions with the District, including
serving as an intermediate and high school principal. She is the first female superintendent
and the first employee in the District to come up through the ranks to become superintendent.
She received her bachelor's degree from Iowa State University, her master's degree from the
University of Northern Iowa, her mid-management and supervisor certifications from the University
of Houston-Clear Lake, and her doctorate from Baylor University.
Dr. Mossman was presented the Educational Leadership Award by the Clear Creek Educators
Association, and was named the 1994 Administrator of the Year for large school districts
in the state by the Texas Classroom Teachers Association. In 2003 she was a recipient of
the Trailblazer award by San Jacinto College South during Women's History Month. She also
was named a Distinguished Alumnae of the University of Houston-Clear Lake in 2003. Dr. Mossman
is active in the community and serves on the boards of many local organizations.
