Timothy L. Shaunty, President Texas Council on Economic Education Timothy L. Shaunty, President Tim was appointed President of the Texas Council on Economic Education in May of 2001. Immediately prior to this appointment, he served as Center Director, Center for Economic Education at the University of Houston-Clear Lake. Tim had a 30 year career in higher education, serving in a variety of positions from Research Economist to Director of Governmental Relations. Upon his retirement, he entered the public schools where he taught government and economics for 5 years. Having attained the rank of Captain in the U.S. Army, Tim used his veteran's status to continue his education and has received degrees in Agricultural Economics, Sociology, Business Administration, and Architecture.
